Operations Manager
The role
We're looking for an experienced Manager to oversee TikkBay's day-to-day operations and lead our growing team. You'll be responsible for coordinating across all departments (marketing, support, technical, and accounts), setting priorities, ensuring deadlines are met, and driving the overall growth strategy of the platform.
Your responsibilities include managing and mentoring team members across all roles, setting weekly goals and tracking team performance, overseeing the hiring pipeline and onboarding new staff, coordinating with the founder on product roadmap and business strategy, reviewing platform analytics and identifying growth opportunities, managing escalated support issues and high-priority organizer relationships, ensuring operational processes are documented and continuously improved, and representing TikkBay in external communications and partnerships.
This is a leadership role that requires someone who can think strategically, execute decisively, and inspire a remote team to deliver exceptional results.

What we look for
- 3+ years of experience in operations management, project management, or team leadership
- Proven track record of managing remote teams across multiple functions
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal
- Ability to make data-driven decisions using analytics and performance metrics
- Understanding of the tech/startup ecosystem, preferably in Africa
- Experience with event management, ticketing, or marketplace platforms is a strong plus
- Comfortable with tools like Slack, Google Workspace, Trello/Notion, and similar
- Leadership style that balances accountability with empathy
- Entrepreneurial mindset — you take ownership and drive results without waiting for instructions
